We had a great time at sewing on Wednesday night (well 99% fun and the last half hour was just furiously hard nose-to-the-grind-stone work when at least one of our contingent had turned into a pumpkin as being way past her bed time??!!!).
M arrived with 63 squares sewn around three sides leaving one side open. These were made using a 5" square of pretty fabric sewn to a 4" square of calico (by putting a pleat in each side). Then between the lot of us we stuffed and stitched until we had a pile of marshmallows! Ready to stitch in rows. We slowed down for some deliberation over what should go where - and some even knew that it was far better NOT to get involved (otherwise we would have been there ALL night! - isn't that right L?). Miraculously a consensus was reached fairly early on as we realised that once we were happy with the placement of the darks the rest was pretty good however it was organised. That's when the speed pinning, sewing and stitching began.
And voila ... chocolate marshmallows stitched in rows.
Yes - there is one missing,.,.., we searched high and low and then when we were packing up we (who was up way past her bed time) found it in the bag of toyfill and then collapsed behind the pillar in hysterics.
So - M - can't wait to see it all sewn together this wednesday???
So, on to the winner of the Brenda Ryan Pattern. I numbered the comments from the giveaway post 1-4 and then added on the comment from the thread post (as it was clear that this was for the comp) as number 5. .... the winner is... courtesy of www.random.org
Lyn S who commented "I like SweetPea, Seachange, Golden Elm, Dahlia and Thyme" - perhaps we will make a stitcher of her yet!
Congratulations Lyn - will get the pattern to you shortly!
When it's done I'll grab a photo of the completed chocolate marshmallows...
Oh, and vignette issue 2 by Leanne Beasley of Leanne's House is in stock now! This features a BOM pattern "vignette in stitches" which is just beautiful.
